Prysmian Group Finals Associate (Night Shift) in Claremont, North Carolina

Reports To: Quality Manager

Position Description:

  • Review WIP/Kanban reports to test by manufacturing dates or as instructed by the on-shift manager/planner

  • Ensure all product meets requirements as defined by the Prysmian TL9000 and/or the Nuclear Quality Management Systems

  • Handle/Maneuver heavy reels of cable and load long sections of cable into test equipment

  • Prepare cables and cable components for inspection using small hand tools and proper personal protective equipment

  • Perform SM and MM OTDR testing using Oasys and/or stand-alone systems

  • Accurately interpret test results to PASS/FAIL criteria

  • Mechanically inspect cables and components to ensure the correct construction

  • Ensure compliance to Prysmian and customer requirements

  • Locate and document any defect or concern in a Quality Notification

  • Ensure that all cables are defect free

  • Accurately complete all SAP transactions

  • Process fallout products into finished goods inventory or orphanage

  • Take direction from team leader and on-shift managers on testing priorities

  • Ensure all activity meets requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems

  • Comply with all OHSAS 18001 and ISO14001 Health-Safety-Environmental (HSE) guidelines

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or a member of management

Education

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Preferred: Some College

Experience

Required:

  • Computer assisted/ERP user activity, data entry, or process activity using a computer system

  • QC experience, auditing, monitoring, reviewing or testing in a production environment.

  • Technical experience – the use of problem-solving skills in a technical environment (Line operator, tester, Data analysis, Programming, report writing, project management, inspector, etc.)

  • Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, in a timely manner

Preferred:

  • Experience operating optical measurement equipment including OTDR’s

  • SAP – Quality Notifications

  • SAP – Production Confirmations

Skills/Attributes:

  • Demonstrated commitment to quality

  • Effective time management skills and able to work with little supervision

  • Attention to detail

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities

  • Use of proper personal protective equipment and utilization of forklifts and reel skates for safe movement of reels without injury

  • Must pass colorblindness and vision test (with corrective lenses if needed)
